Now that the Atlanta Falcons are getting a new stadium, they are looking for contractors. Many minority contractors across metro Atlanta are asking for consideration.
They spoke Thursday at the Georgia Black Contractors Association Expo today at the Holiday Inn on capitol avenue.
Members of the association are all vying for a piece of a $300 million contract.
"The old stadium cost $300 million, this particular project, 31 percent minority participation allows black contractors to get $300 million out of this deal which is as much as the previous stadium cost," said spokesman Steven Muhammad.
Falcons president Rich Mckay was unable to attend today's event due to a scheduling conflict. The association says members will meet with Mckay at a later time.
