Former Union City firefighter sentenced in child porn case

UNION CITY, GA (CBS46) -

A former Union City firefighter was sentenced to serve five years in federal prison for receiving child pornography on Friday.

According to United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates, defendant Justin D. Corley collected a large number of images and videos portraying the sexual abuse of young children.

"The fact that he apparently traded some of these images with other collectors while he was on duty as a municipal firefighter is particularly troubling," said Yates.

According to court documents, Corley made child pornography files available to other collectors using a wireless internet protocol address assigned to the Union City Fire Department.

A forensic examination of Corley's computer revealed more than 9,000 images of child pornography in the form of photographs and videos, according to FBI agents.

Corley was sentenced to five years in prison to be followed by 15 years of supervised release, and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,000.
