FULTON COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Toledo man is behind bars and officials are looking for several others as they investigate a series of break-ins in Fulton County.

Fulton County Sheriff Roy Miller says the break-ins have been happening in broad daylight. The suspects knock on the door to see if anyone is home first.

"If nobody's home, then they go on in," he said.

There have been at least five break-ins recently in the county. Everything from electronics, to jewelry, to guns have been stolen.

Officials say 35-year-old Roger McCown was caught red-handed with stolen property in his car, but they say he may not have been working alone.

"It's still a pending investigation, but I believe it will lead us to more people," Miller said.

The sheriff says being alert is the key to preventing future crimes like this.

"I think we really need to start looking out for each other," he said. "You should get to know your neighbor, what their patterns are. Talk to your neighbor, let them know if you're not going to be home for a period of time."

Miller says they were able to arrest McCown after receiving a report of a suspicious car.

Anyone with information about the break-ins, or who notices suspicious activity, should call the sheriff's office at 419-335-4010.
