Woodstock man killed in motorcycle crash Saturday

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A Woodstock man died and his passenger was injured after a crash in Cherokee County on Saturday morning.

It happened around 11:15 a.m. on Cumming Highway at Hampton Station Boulevard.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Frank Hyland, 61, of Woodstock was heading eastbound on a motorcycle when a Toyota Tundra, driven by Pablo Martinez, 49, of Ball Ground, pulled out onto highway from Hampton Station Boulevard.

Hyland's motorcycle hit the left side of the truck.

Hyland was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A passenger on the motorcycle, Mary Hyland, 55, was thrown from the motorcycle on impact. She was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries.

Charges are pending upon the completion of an investigation.
