Gov. Deal: Hyundai Dymos to create more than 300 new jobs

Posted: Updated:

Hyundai Dymos will open a new manufacturing plant in West Point to supply Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia.

The new facility, which will manufacture seats for the new Kia Sorento, will create 350 new manufacturing jobs, according to Gov. Nathan Deal.

"Hyundai Dymos is joining a booming automotive industry in Georgia," said Deal. "Kia's presence here has been a magnet for automotive suppliers, and our ready-to-work, highly trained workforce ensures that Georgia stays in the running for major automotive projects."

The plant will be completed in July, start hiring in January, and begin normal production in November 2014.

Hyundai Dymos will use Georgia Quick Start to train its employees, which is the No. 1 workforce training program in the United States.

A member of the Hyundai Motor Group, Hyundai Dymos manufactures transmissions, axles, 4WD systems and seats.
