CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A 9-year-old boy, missing since Thursday afternoon, has been found.

Travion Anderson went missing at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday as he was headed toward a bus at Harper Elementary School in Riverdale. He did not make it home, however.

Travion was found outdoors in his apartment complex. He only complained of insect bites to his arms and legs.

Chief Clarence Cox III of the Clayton County school police department said he had no indication that the boy was a runaway.

"According to the parents, there's no history of this before," Cox told reporters at about midnight.

At about 6:25 a.m. Friday, Cox sent word that Travion had been found and that he was safe.

It remained unclear Friday morning where the boy was during the hours he was missing.

Travion said he didn't want to go home because he was afraid of getting in trouble.
