LSU's defense held the Florida Gators to six points and sophomore defensive end Danielle Hunter was a pig part of the unit's success. On Monday, Hunter was named Defensive Lineman of the Week by the SEC.
Hunter finished the game with seven tackles, a tackle for a loss and a pair of pass breakups in LSU's win over Florida. The seven tackles were one shy of his career-high.
LSU limited Florida to just 240 total yards. After scoring a field goal on its opening drive, LSU forced Florida to punt on its next five possessions, which stretched midway into the third quarter.
The Tigers recorded season-highs for sacks (4.0), tackles for loss (8.0) and QB hurries (5.0). LSU has allowed just 3 field goals over its last six quarters of action.
LSU travels to Oxford to play Ole Miss Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
