An Atlanta officer fired shots at a driver in southwest Atlanta Monday night, injuring a passenger, police said.

The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of University Avenue and Pryor Road.

According to an Atlanta police spokesman, officers tried to pull over a man who was driving erratically. The driver fled, injuring an officer.

An officer shot at the car and hit the passenger in the shoulder.

The passenger is now at Atlanta Medical Center South in stable condition, and the driver was arrested. The officer's injury was minor, police said.
