ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Two Atlanta men were indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury in connection with the kidnapping of a minor child in Clayton County.

Tony Maurice Graves, 28, and Wildrego Jackson, 29, both of Atlanta, were charged with conspiracy to kidnap and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence.

Graves was arrested last Friday, and Jackson was previously arrested on Sept. 18.

The two are accused of kidnapping 14-year-old Ayvani Perez from her Ellenwood home on Sept. 17.

Investigators said the men were armed when they broke into Perez's home at 2:15 a.m. and demanded money and jewelry.

When the teen's mother told them she didn't have any, they shot the family's dog and kidnapped Perez.

Police said the men demanded a ransom and kept Perez 36 hours before they released her.
