Schools in Roswell and Locust Grove were locked down Friday morning.

Elkins Point Middle School in Roswell was on lockdown because of a nearby home invasion.

Around 9 a.m., Roswell police were called after an armed man kicked in the back door of a home on Hembree Grove Drive.

Police and K-9 officers are searching for the suspect. The lockdown has been lifted.

Luella High School in Locust Grove was on lockdown because of a suspected threat.

The high school, as well as the middle and elementary schools due to their close proximity, went into precautionary lockdown for about an hour due to a threat made on social media by one of the high school students against the high school.

The threat was relayed to school officials.
