Participants conclude Susan G. Komen Atlanta 3-Day walk
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
On Sunday participants concluded their 2013 Susan G. Komen Atlanta 3-Day walk.
Two-time breast cancer survivor Marilyn Norris signed up to walk 60 miles in her first Susan G. Komen 3-Day in between her first and second diagnosis with breast cancer and she has not stopped walking since.
The three-day, 60-mile journey began Friday at Stone Mountain, with over 1,000 participants walking 20 miles each day and sleeping in tents each night.
More than $2.9 million was raised for breast cancer research, scientific programs and community-based breast health and education programs.
The closing ceremony was held at Turner Field on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

A Griffin police officer was shot and killed Saturday morning. It happened at about 2:30 a.m. at a Waffle House. The officer is identified as 43-year-old Kevin Jordan. He had been with Griffin Police for four years.More >
