Serial robber strikes two more times in October, police looking for person of interest

Rockdale County investigators said they are baffled by a masked man caught on surveillance video. They said he not only shot his way into a store to rob it, he also got into a shootout with a store clerk. Detectives said he has targeted the same five stores more than once.

"He has hit a total of 16 times," said Eric Levett, Rockdale County sheriff. "I have been in law enforcement for a long time, and I have never seen someone hit the same type of establishment over and over and over."

The bandit appears to like Starship adult stores. Investigators said he's hit four stores in Fulton and Clayton counties and one in Rockdale County. After the Rockdale robbery, Levett started a task force with investigators from Clayton and Fulton counties as well as the Georgia Bureau of Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

"As far as Rockdale County, he is our most wanted person," said Levett.

In surveillance video recorded at a Starship store in Rockdale County, the gunman sticks a revolver in the victim's face and then accidentally discharges it when he runs out. In another robbery, the gunman shoots at a customer who happens to walk in during the robbery. Fortunately, no one got hurt.

"He doesn't care about what happens. He doesn't care what happens to either himself or to anyone who is on the inside" Levett said.

Investigators are also looking for another person who they believe may be involved in the crimes.

"The best thing for this individual to do is turn himself in because we are not going to give up our search to look for him," Levett said.

Starship Enterprises is offering a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the robber. Crime Stoppers is offering $2,000.
