Study ranks states by moods

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Does your mood match Georgia? A group of researchers mapped American's moods with state-by-state ratings of personality and temperament.

The study was published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. Researchers used personality test data from over one million people.

Researchers identified three distinct personality regions in the country.

Category 1: Friendly & conventional
Category 2: Relaxed and creative
Category 3: Temperamental & uninhibited

Georgia was seen as Friendly and Conventional.

Openness:Score: 56.9Rank: 13
ConscientiousnessScore: 68.8Rank: 2
Extraversion:Score: 63.2Rank: 3
Agreeableness:Score: 60Rank: 7
Neuroticism:Score: 38Rank: 45

A score of 50 is the national average. Sample size was 52,631.
