One of the two men accused of robbing a Hospice patient and her fiancée in February was in court Tuesday morning for the first day of his trial. Dwight Blalock is accused, along with Emanuel Beague, of pistol-whipping a man before robbing him of his gun collection at a Douglas County apartment complex.

Beague entered a guilty plea Monday, and could face life in prison.

Blalock elected to go through with a trial. Tuesday, he sat without showing visible signs of emotion as the two victims in the case gave testimony.

"I could feel a gun in the back of my head, and I just closed my eyes," said Erica Hill, recounting the morning of the robbery. She was on hospice care at the time, and remains on disability eight months later.

"I had to give up hospice because I was afraid to open the door," she said of the aftermath of the robbery. "I cry all the time."

Investigators from the Douglas County Sheriff's Department also testified Tuesday. During their testimony, dash camera video from one of the patrol units was shown from the morning of Feb. 22, when the suspects were apprehended. Those arrests came only after a high-speed chase through Douglas and Cobb Counties.

The dash camera video showed the chase, from start to finish.

The trial will resume Wednesday, when Beague is expected to testify against Blalock.
