SANDY SPRINGS, GA (CBS46) -
Sandy Springs police have arrested John Tyler Smith, 34, in connection with the hit and run incident which brought down a light pole and traffic light Sunday.
Just before 3:00 a.m. on Sunday officers responded to Roswell Road at Glenridge Drive. Police said the driver of a black Honda Accord struck a light pole and left his car at the scene. The traffic light fell into the road way and crews spent Sunday morning making repairs.
Investigators said the car had a Tennessee license plate.
Smith is charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, striking a fixed object, and failure to report. After his arrest, Smith was taken to Alpharetta jail.
