Kids kick fitness into high gear near the Beltline

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The Beltline served as the backdrop for a first of its kind youth soccer tournament in southeast Atlanta Sunday.

Kids of all ages kicked, ran and scored during the free one day tournament at D.H. Stanton Park.

"To see kids out here like this coming out having fun that's what it's all about. The reason we are building these parks, building these trails, building these communities together, is so that we can kinds of bring out the kid in all of us, come together, be more connected and also get fit in the process," said coach Rob Brawner.

Organizers say the event is a way to teach kids about good sportsmanship, teamwork and to get more involved in an active lifestyle.
