Pima County's newest and
biggest soccer stadium has been named the Kino Sports Complex North Stadium.
Leaders from the
community, the Kino Sports Complex and FC Tucson will be on hand for the ribbon
cutting later today. The stadium
was part of a multi-million dollar project from the county that first broke
ground back in April.
Less than a year later the
new 2,360 seat stadium is ready to hold the screaming soccer fans. The surrounding fields and facilities are
ready for youth and professional soccer.
The field will even be used for other sports like lacrosse and football.
Officials say the new
stadium will attract tourists and bring in money for Pima County.
FC Tucson's third MLS
preseason training camp and the Desert Diamond Cup will be hosted in the new
stadium in 2014.
The new facility will see
its first major event in November.
Officials will give more
