A woman was killed after an explosion at a Rockmart plant.
Rockmart police said the explosion happened Thursday morning in a small area of Meggitt Polymers & Composites on Goodyear Street.
The Polk County coroner identified the woman as 56-year-old Elaine Davidson.
Locals said Davidson was a grandmother and was looking forward to spending Halloween with her grandchildren.
John Skubina, of Meggitt, said Davidson was a quality control inspector who was working in a room with a machine called an autoclave, which creates pressure and heat, when pressure started coming out of the machine. She later died.
Investigators are trying to determine what happened, and Meggitt wouldn't release what kind of injuries Davidson suffered from.
