Atlanta police are investigating a fatal garbage truck accident that killed a Public Works employee and sent his co-worker to the hospital in critical condition.
The accident happened Saturday evening on I-75 Southbound near the Cleveland Ave exit.
Police said the garbage truck driver may have lost control as he tried to exit I-75 near Cleveland Ave. As a result, police said the truck overturned and the passenger was ejected. The passenger died at the scene from his injuries.
Police do not believe there were any other cars involved in the crash.
Investigators said the driver was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
