Posted: Updated:

Adrian Spellen is accused of sexually abusing a 9-year old girl who was one of his Taekwondo students at Powerkicks Martial Arts.

Last November a judge declared a mistrial after a jury could not reach a unanimous decision. Prosecutors are trying for a conviction with a second jury.

The victim who is now 11 testified on Monday. She told jurors Spellen, who she called Master Spellen, summoned her into a front room of his martial arts school and molested her on four different occasions.

The child's mother also took the witness stand and told jurors she found out about the alleged abuse when she had "the" conversation with her daughter.

"My older daughter and I were excited about have the talk with my youngest. After I told her how babies are made, she walked up to me and whispered in my ear. She told me that's what Master Spellen does to her," said the child's mother.

Spellen maintains his innocence. His attorney told jurors the child is very intelligent with a vivid imagination.

The state is expected to rest it's case today. The defense will then present it's case. There is no word if Spellen will testify.
