The driver of a tractor trailer suffered multiple injuries when his vehicle flipped over, went through a guardrail and over an embankment.
Vermont State Police say 49-year-old Willie J. Barnfield of Stone Mountain, Ga., said he had brake problems shortly before the crash around 2:50 p.m. Thursday. He was taken to the hospital with injuries to his head, arm and left knee.
Authorities say Barnfield, who was traveling on Route 9 near Notch Road, was trapped in his vehicle for several hours because of its dangerous location. The Bennington Fire Department, Shaftsbury Fire Department and Bennington Rescue responded to the accident scene. Copyright 2013 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
