Police are still searching for a man who kidnapped a girl on Friday afternoon.

Authorities say Michael Troy Wilburn left 2-year-old Paisley Mealor inside a car in Danielsville after abducting her in Commerce.

The girl was found unharmed, according to police.

An Amber Alert was originally issued for the missing girl just before 5 p.m., and was canceled at 5:34 p.m. after the girl was found.

According to Commerce police, the child was taken from Northridge Hospital in Commerce. Paisley was there with her twin brother, mother and Wilburn, who is the mother's boyfriend.

Officers said doctors were treating the twin brother for a broken leg.

A doctor called officers when he suspected Wilburn had beaten the boy. Officers said that's when Wilburn took the girl and drove away.

The hospital released a statement on Friday night. The statement said they assisted authorities with their investigation of a child being taken from the hospital parking lot and that no hospital patient was involved.

Wilburn took the girl around 12:30 p.m. and she was found at a feed store parking lot at 5:30 p.m. Police said they were unable to reach Wilburn after he drove off with the girl. They do not know where the two were throughout the afternoon.

According to police, Wilburn and the children's mom started dating in the spring and there was no history of domestic abuse.

Officers said Wilburn has an extensive criminal record that includes petty crimes to felonies.
