Atlantans bundle up for arctic blast

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Winter-like temperatures gripped metro Atlanta Wednesday, prompting commuters to bundle up - or wish they had.

At the Lindbergh MARTA station, the temperature dipped to 27 degrees just before sunrise.

Gary Hunnicutt, who works at the nearby AT&T building, said he wishes he would have picked a different coat.

"The zipper doesn't work. Oh well," he said with a laugh, adding that he'll be sure to wear a different coat on Thursday, which is also expected to start out freezing.

Tonya Saxon, an employee at MARTA's headquarters, said she's glad she remembered to dress in layers.

"I forgot my gloves this morning, though," she said. "I've got my pockets and my jacket, so I'm good."
