The first freeze in Atlanta this season occurred Wednesday morning, which was right on schedule. The average "first freeze" in Atlanta is Nov. 13.
The low temperature was at 7:45 a.m. when Atlanta dropped to 28 degrees for the first time since March 4.
It was also the first freeze in the city since March 27.
The low Wednesday was 17 degrees below the normal for this time of year which is 45 degrees, although no records were broken in Atlanta. The record low was 21 degrees set in 1911.
