PEACHTREE CITY, GA (CBS46) -

A Peachtree City nonprofit is collecting turkeys for needy families this Thanksgiving.

The Real Life Center held a Turkey Drive Wednesday night at the Chick-fil-A on Peachtree Parkway.

The group is trying to collect a minimum of 500 turkeys. They joined forces with JOYFM, Chick-fil-A and Franklin Financial to get the word out.

If you would like to give, you can bring a real turkey to their next donation event Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Chick-fil-A at Senoia Road between 6 and 9 p.m. You can also give towards the purchase of a turkey.

The Real Life Center focuses on helping the emotional, spiritual, physical and financial aspects of those suffering in the community. In 2012, they had 65,457 client visits.

The center has two thrift stores, a mobile food pantry and offer counseling and educational classes.
