LOCUST GROVE, GA (CBS46) -

Students at Locust Grove Middle School held banners and marched through the hallways Friday in celebration of the many charitable causes their school supports.

During the "Wildcats Give Back Parade of Kindness," each of the 38 banners the students held showcased a service project that students adopted.

The projects include Hearts for Haiti Clothing Drive, Relay for Live, Kids Helping Kids, Letters to the Troops and many more.

"It's important to help people in need," said sixth-grade student Avery Johnson.

"For us, we hope it makes them want to continue to do it, not only through middle school, but through high school and on into life," said Locust Grove Middle School Principal Tony Townsend. "Being able to give is such a special gift that we all have, and we certainly hope it's just a routine that we begin at this early age."
