Atlanta Falcons running back Jason Snelling was arrested in Barrow County Friday morning.
According to Winder police, Snelling was pulled over at 3:35 a.m. Friday morning in Winder after police noticed a car having trouble staying in its lane.
The police report says an officer smelled marijuana coming from Snelling's vehicle during the traffic stop. The arresting officer said Snelling admitted to smoking earlier.
Officers say they also saw "several green leafy particles" in Snelling's mouth after noticing that he was swallowing while talking with police.
Snelling was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug related materials, failure to maintain lane, failure to maintain insurance, improper use of a dealer license plate and no registration.
The Atlanta Falcons released a statement on Snelling Friday night:
"We are aware of the situation concerning Jason Snelling and are in the process of gathering additional information. Because this is an on-going legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time."
