NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt forward James Siakam scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Commodores coach Kevin Stallings became the school's all-time wins leader with an 80-69 win over Lipscomb on Friday night.

Stallings won his 279th career game for Vanderbilt (2-0) in front of a crowd of 8,416. The victory moves Stallings ahead of Roy Skinner, who coached Vanderbilt from 1958-76.

Siakam's scoring and rebounding totals were both career highs for the junior from Cameroon. Vanderbilt senior forward Rod Odom also matched a career high with 20 points. J.C. Hampton led Lipscomb (1-2) with 21 points. Khion Sankey added 1 for the Bisons.

Crosstown foe Lipscomb gave Vanderbilt trouble early, taking a 48-46 lead with 10:56 to go before Vanderbilt pulled away in the second half. Vanderbilt scored 20 of the final 32 points in the game, powered by an 11-0 run.

Lipscomb led by as much as 5 points with 11:40 to go in the first half and stuck with the Commodores midway through the second half before Vanderbilt pulled away.

At one point in the first half, Vanderbilt went on a 1-for-7 drought from the field with seven turnovers before Siakam delivered a spark in the final 12.9 seconds by converting a three-point play to take a 33-30 halftime lead.

The momentum continued into the second half as Vanderbilt went on a 9-0 run, but Lipscomb answered on three consecutive 3-point shots from J.C. Copeland for a second-half lead.

Dai-Jon Parker gave Vanderbilt a lead by answering with a 3-point shot, but Siakam played his role providing energy with a dunk and then a jumper to give the Commodores the lead for good.
