Cobb County government officials said they are nearly ready to release a Memorandum of Understanding with the Atlanta Braves, to be voted on by county commissioners next week. The MOU is one of the essential documents in making the Braves move to the intersection of Interstate 75 and 285 in Cobb County a completed deal.
"I'm very comfortable with the financials and what I've seen so far," said county commissioner Joann Birrell.
"I think this (MOU) will clear it all up to say 'this is what we're going to approve, or not approve.' And everything is spelled out in detail."
As the deal stands now, the Braves have agreed to pay for 55 percent of the $670 million cost of the new stadium.
Birrell said the MOU should be coming out Tuesday.
