ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

MARTA will modify its weekend rain service in Atlanta, according to a release from the bus and rail service.

Travelers taking MARTA are being asked to allow extra time for their trips this weekend.

Lindbergh Center station

The red and gold line trains (north and south) will run on a 24 minute schedule. Service between Lindbergh Center and Airport stations will be every 12 minutes.

Both lines will run from North Springs and Doraville stations south to the Airport until the end of revenue service, said the release.

Buckhead station

On Saturday at the Buckhead station, all trains will board on the southbound platform.

On Sunday at the Buckhead station, all trains will board on the northbound platform.

Blue and Green rail lines (east and west)

Both the blue and green lines will run every 20 minutes.

The green line trains will run only between Bankhead and Ashby stations.

MARTA says the modified service is due to scheduled track work.
