Henry County school bus driver arrested and later fired for allegedly attacking student

Latrice Snelling said she is upset beyond belief after what she said her son's bus driver, Stanley ZDeb did to her son late last week.

"He needs to be punished. He needs to be punished, really," said Snelling.

ZDeb is the driver of the bus that takes Snellling's son home from school. She said last Thursday she ran from her home to the bus stop after some neighborhood kids told her son was getting attacked by the bus driver. She said her son said it all started when ZDeb told him  to get his leg out of the isle.

"My son said the next thing he knew, the bus driver pushed him against the guy in the seat with him and then against the window," said Snelling.

According to the criminal warrant, ZDeb is accused of grabbing the boy by the shirt and pulling him back into the seat as the alleged victim tried to get away. And when the boy tried to get away again, the warrant says ZDeb used his hip to push the alleged victim back into the seat and up against the window.

Snelling said ZDeb wouldn't allow her son off the bus.

"He was supposed to get off at the bus stop but the driver wouldn't let him get off. He did his whole route and I just happened to be at the bus stop when he came back from doing his route. He was headed out of the neighborhood," said Snelling.

Snelling admits her son, like many other kids, has been written up for a few minor things like chewing gum, but she said her son hasn't done anything to deserve what allegedly happened to him.

"It is not appropriate for him to put his hands on my son, at all," said Snelling.

ZDeb has been charged with simple battery, a misdemeanor. A spokesperson with the Henry County School District said ZDeb no longer works for the school district.
