BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Multiple agencies are investigating an early morning traffic incident on I-10 in Baton Rouge.
Officials say three men were driving back from New Orleans and their car broke down. The two men in the front seat of the vehicle started yelling that their car was on fire, that it was going to explode, as a prank.
The man, who was asleep in the backseat, woke up and quickly got out of the car and started running. That is when he fell off the I-10 East overpass at Siegen Lane. Louisiana State Police say the man did not jump intentionally.
He is listed in critical condition at this time. We are told that he has a broken leg and other broken bones.
The driver of the vehicle was cited for fake inspection sticker and driving under suspension.
