MABLETON, GA (CBS46) -

Drug Enforcement Agents were at a home on Oaks Hill Road in Mableton on Friday.

About 12 homes on Oak Hills Road were evacuated SW between Ayres Road and Maple Valley Road SW on Friday because of a suspected meth house. Residents were allowed back in at 10:30 p.m.

Early Friday evening, Ed Langenfeld noticed smoke pouring from his next door neighbor's home. He said he called the homeowner, Charles, who was at work and for help.

As soon as officers arrived, the people inside the home scattered.

Langenfeld said the group was cooking meth at the home. According to Langenfeld, Charles and his niece live in the home, and they took in several homeless men in their late teens and early twenties.

CBS Atlanta's cameras were rolling as police drove away with one man in handcuffs.

Officers arrested three men. The DEA is now leading the investigation.
