Despite chilly temperatures, runners pounded the pavement Saturday morning for the annual Atlanta Beltline Eastside 10K. At the start of the race, temperatures were in the low 40s.
More than 1,000 people participated in the race that began at Stoveworks off Krog Street and took runners through historic neighborhoods like Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park and Grand Park.
The event also included an alumni tailgate challenge featuring SEC teams and a neighborhood challenge in which neighborhood associations competed for a $1,000 purse.
Proceeds from the beltline race will benefit the Atlanta Beltline Partnership, a non-profit organization that raises funds from private and philanthropic sources to support the Atlanta Beltline. For information on other beltline races click here.
