ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A home care business is providing a little something extra for its clients this holiday season, helping them tackle tasks from shopping to decorating.

Retired music professor Homer Holloway, 79, of Chamblee recently lost his wife Doris.

"She did everything," he said, "especially decorating the tree and that sort of thing."

Holloway wasn't up to decorating the Christmas tree alone, so his caregiver Jessica Young of Synergy HomeCare gathered his decorations from storage and decorated the tree next to a window in the front room of his home, just as his wife would have done.

"His face was as bright as the tree," said Young. "So that made me feel great."

The services are part of Synergy's Elders' Elves program, which also offers clients help with shopping for gifts, addressing holiday cards and cooking holiday meals.

"It's a great pleasure to see somebody come in and do it and get the results that they get," said Holloway. "It makes it easy for me."
