A local juicing business continues to break sales records as more people hear about the health benefits of pressed juicing.
Roots Juices, located in the Shops Around Lenox, opened a few months ago. General manager Johnny Pompa says he gets new customers every day. Some learned about the company's juice-making process online; others through word of mouth.
What makes Roots different is that its juices come from a hydraulic cold pressed juicer, the highest-quality juicer that is available, according to www.RootsPressedJuices.com. A normal kitchen centrifugal juicer takes a whole fruit and squeezes out the juice through a high speed spinning process which eliminates many of the vitamins, minerals, and enzymes along the way. The machine used by Roots Juices takes two to three pounds of fruits and vegetables and literally presses out every last drop of juice.
"It's local Georgia produce, and we love that," said Pompa. "We want to support local as much as we can. So that's why we just get back to the roots. You can pay the farmer now or pay the doctor later."
Trey Weatherly is a weekly customer. He told CBS Atlanta News that he's noticed a big difference in his overall health.
"A lot of energy, basically," Weatherly said. "I just feel better, skin looks better, allergies go down. I sleep a lot better."
Roots Juices offers complimentary delivery to customers who live in certain Buckhead zip codes. Shipping is free anywhere in Georgia, Alabama and Texas.
