Rita Heikenfeld's S'mores in a jar

Jungle Jim's Executive Chef Rita Heikenfeld stopped by FOX19 Morning News to make S'mores in a jar.

This dessert is a delicious and unusual treat because each guest can have their own little jar of Smores to eat. Find the recipe below!

Recipe:

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 package chocolate mousse or chocolate pudding
  •  Mini marshmallows Graham crackers {crumbled} Chocolate chips
  • Prepare cake batter and bake as directed for cupcakes.
  • Prepare chocolate mousse/pudding as directed and chill until ready to use.
  • When you are ready to assemble the jars, slice the top off of the cupcakes (cutting the cupcake horizontally in half). 
  • Place the bottom half in the jar and add a layer of chocolate mousse or pudding.  
  • Place mini-marshmallows on a baking sheet and broil them in the oven for a couple of minutes. Be careful so they don't burn.
  • Add a layer of marshmallows over the chocolate mousse or pudding. 
  • Top with the cupcake top and a second layer of the mousse or pudding.  
  • Crumble graham crackers on top along with more roasted marshmallows and some chocolate chips.
