Fulton County crews are working to remove an overturned tractor trailer from a ramp on Interstate 85 southbound.
The incident happened on the entrance ramp from Old National Highway to I-85 around 3 a.m. Thursday.
No one was injured according Fulton County police and the ramp has been closed.
Nearly 80,000 pounds of hams spilled onto the pavement. Those hams were being hauled to stores for the holidays.
The truck's driver, Rago Vargas, said he escaped the wrecked cab through the passenger door after the cab of the truck was turned on its side. He told CBS Atlanta that he was getting back on to I-85 and headed to Texas.
"I didn't see no warning signs that there was a curve until I started to get in the curve so I tried to slow down but the trailer kept going but the weight of the trailer flipped me over," Vargas said.
The wreck also caused diesel fuel to leak from the truck's tank. Crews cleaned up the fuel spill. Copyright 2013 WGCL-TV (Meredith Corporation). All rights reserved.
