GRIFFIN, GA (CBS46) -

A new home was dedicated to a war widow and her son on Saturday.

Specialist Jonathan Davis, 20, of Griffin, died on March 29, 2012 after he was hit by enemy fire in Afghanistan. He is survived by his wife Kristen and son Ben.

The Griffin First Assembly and Square Foot Ministries of Fayetteville started working on the home in October.

The Griffin First Assembly was Davis' church. The house is the third built for a veteran's family under the Square Foot Ministry's Veterans Day Build Program.

The groups said they still need to raise $20,000 for the Davis family. Donations in the family's name can be made to Square Foot Ministries or online through Veteransbuild.com.
