Coldest Christmas morning in Atlanta in almost a decade


This Christmas morning in Atlanta was the coldest in 9 years!  The temperature dropped to 27 degrees at 8:03 a.m. on Dec. 25.  That's the coldest Christmas morning since 2004, when it was also 27 degrees.

The high was 46 degrees at 3:23 p.m., which isn't that unusual.  The last time it was as cold on Christmas afternoon in Atlanta was as recently as 2010 when the high was only 40 degrees.

This Christmas in Atlanta was much colder than normal, but not record breaking.  Here are the all-time temperature stats for Atlanta from the National Weather Service.
