The driver of a car that crashed and injured one person early Monday morning has been charged with DUI.
Police said Juan Carmona Garcia, 28, of Antioch, was behind the wheel when the Honda ran off the right side of Bell Road near Mt. View Road at 1:05 a.m., struck an MTA bus stop sitting station and overturned. The passenger, Omar Garcia, 23, was critically injured and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Juan Garcia sustained minor injuries.
Police said he smelled of alcohol and showed indicators of impairment. A blood sample was drawn from Juan Garcia for alcohol analysis by the crime laboratory.
Metro police will have a sobriety checkpoint Monday night on West End Avenue.
