ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The government watchdog group Common Cause Georgia says they will work to force more transparency from Cobb County leaders on the Braves stadium project between now and the time construction begins later in 2014.

Executive Director William Perry said his organization believes the economic impact study that was commissioned prior to the vote by county commissioners last month must be taken with a grain of salt.

"That study was done by people who want the stadium to happen. We'd like to see a little more independence in that process," said Perry.

Common Cause Georgia published a blog Monday morning criticizing the lack of transparency during the negotiations, which were kept secret until county Chairman Tim Lee announced the deal with the Braves in early November.

"There are so many questions that need to be answered," said Perry. "We're continuing to watch-dog this process. When information is not being shared, we'll push for it, we'll file open records requests, we'll continue to try to inform the public as much as we can."
