A police supervisor has been charged with DUI, reckless driving and other violations.
Atlanta police Lt. Maurice Dodd was arrested on Dec. 30.
"The Atlanta Police Department takes this type of allegation against one of its own very seriously. It is especially troubling when it is a supervisor; someone we entrust to train others," said Atlanta police spokesperson Officer John Chafee.
If an employee is arrested for DUI, on or off-duty, they are subject to a minimum 16 days suspension or a maximum of dismissal of duties.
Dodd will be placed on administrative leave with pay. He has been with the department for 12 years.
