While some of us our able to protect ourselves from the cold, the homeless community is forced to deal with it. FOX19's Kelly Rippin reported live in Queensgate with details.
More than 2,000 people use the Drop Inn Center each year and days like this we are reminded why it's so important for our city to have such resources.
FOX19 announced in November that the Drop Inn Center will be moving from their Over-the-Rhine location to Queensgate's former Butternut Bread facility.
Currently, the bulk of the homeless are at the Over-the-Rhine location on Race Street. The new facility will be about twice the size.
Right now, they're currently split between several locations which is costly and not beneficial for the program.
They are currently at the programming and design phase on their new location. If everything runs smoothly, they will have the entire Over-the-Rhine location transferred to the Queensgate facility in about 15 to 18 months.
