Atlanta's next weather system will arrive this weekend. Don't worry about bitter cold temperatures with this one. The main threat will be rain, and maybe even a strong storm.
North Georgia will see cloudy skies and drizzle to end the week, but the main event won't arrive until late Friday night.
As a cold front approaches from the west, the rain will pick up especially Saturday morning. Fortunately, an early look at our Futurecast forecast model shows the rain moving out by Saturday evening...just in time for your night out!
Cold weather and severe thunderstorms don't typically mix. It's usually one or the other. However, a combination of strong upper-level winds, along with some lower-level twisting of the air, may produce an isolated severe storm or two.
