Rep. David Scott and SunTrust partner to host event to assist Georgians facing foreclosure

WHAT: Georgians seeking information on mortgage assistance are invited to attend an informational meeting about HomeSafe Georgia, a federally-funded program that helps prevent home foreclosures. The event is free and open to the public.

SunTrust and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (GDCA), which houses the HomeSafe program, will have mortgage and financial counselors available to discuss HomeSafe Georgia options, requirements and some recent changes to the program.

WHEN: Jan. 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

WHERE: Operation Hope Financial Dignity Center, 101 Jackson Street, NE, Atlanta 

WHO: Hosted by Rep. David Scott (D-13) and SunTrust Bank. Rep. Scott and GDCA Commissioner Gretchen Corbin will kick off the event at 9:00 a.m.

COMMENTS: "As our nation and our communities recover from this recession, we want to help families stay in their homes as they, too, recover.  We want to always remember that families are the backbones of our communities and our country," said Rep. Scott.
