Atlanta police responded to a hit-and-run Friday in southwest Atlanta.
According to police, three teenage girls were hit while walking on Westmeath Drive between Stokes and Emerald Avenue SW.
When police arrived, they say two of the teenagers were collapsed on the ground and being treated by paramedics.
The third teenager, who was alert, was able to provide authorities with a description of the hit-and-run vehicle.
According to police, the teenager said after being struck, she saw what she believed to be a silver, four-door vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Malibu. Police say the teenager saw a tall man get out of the car to look at the girls before getting back in the vehicle and driving off.
According to authorities, the teenagers were all taken to Egleston Hospital for Children where one of the girls needed a machine to help with her breathing.
The other two girls were alert and conscious.
