Three Dollar Cafe fails health inspection

Posted: Updated:

The Three Dollar Cafe at 6050 Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners failed a surprise health inspection with 46 points and a "U," for "unsatisfactory," on Jan. 27.

The report says chicken wings were sitting in baskets over the fryer at an unsafe temperature. Health inspectors also found lettuce, hard boiled eggs, chipotle dressing and onion rings stored uncovered. Plus, there was black debris found on ice at both soda station ice bins.

The report also says knives, mixing bowls and metal containers were stored in clean storage with food debris on them.

The Gwinnett County Environmental Health Department said they would re-inspect the Three Dollar Cafe within 10 days.

The Health Department returned with a follow-up inspection on Feb. 4, and gave Three Dollar Cafe a score of 87 (B).  Click here for the updated inspection.

"I was embarrassed, extremely embarrassed. It's unacceptable. Some of the infractions were overlooked by previous inspectors. We would never put our guests health at risk. Every item has been addressed and now we are waiting on the health department to come back," Three Dollar Cafe owner Joseph Woo said.
