Parents and neighbors met Wednesday night at the temporary location of Fernbank Elementary School to voice concerns about plans for a new facility.
Dekalb County school officials presented their latest design and construction plans for the school.
"We want to be sure that we're hearing from everyone, not just a small group of folks, and maybe we'll come to a win-win solution," said Angela Pringle, regional superintendent for Region 2 for Dekalb County Schools.
But, neighbors who attended Wednesday night's meeting said they've made suggestions and they're not being taken seriously.
"We're proposing solutions," said Sydney Cleland, who lives near Fernbank Elementary and had children who attended there. "We go to meetings and propose solutions and we're told 'Thank you very much. We will get back to you.' And, no one does."
The design went through a couple of revisions because of concerns over losing green space near Heaton Park Road and having adequate space for the school's playground.
