ENFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

A 34-year-old man was taken into police custody after a standoff with police at a home in Enfield that lasted for about two hours on Tuesday.

Enfield Police working along with Springfield, MA. officers attempted to serve a warrant against Timothy Doyle for weapons charges at a residence in the area of Audrey Lane at about 3:30 p.m.

However, Doyle did not want to surrender to police and at that point, the standoff began. Other police departments and members of the SWAT were called in.

Audrey Lane along with Trevor Drive, Ganny Terrace and Carmella Terrace were closed while police investigated the incident. Enfield residents were told to stay in their homes because police were worried Doyle had weapons.

Doyle, who was wanted by Holyoke, MA on forgery charges, turned himself in to police at about 5:30 p.m.

"He was placed under arrest as a fugitive from justice," said Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza.

Doyle has previously served jail time for assault, larceny, failure to appear and illegal possession of a firearm.

No injuries were reported during the standoff.

Investigators said the standoff was not related to the raids at the Mouse Pad Business Center and Tech Solutions, which is located at 483 Enfield St., from earlier in the day.
